Hematology
Blood is composed of four components: white blood cells, red blood cells, platelets and plasma. Each of these components possesses their own specific function to transport oxygen, fight disease, increase hemoglobin levels and more. When one may have a deficiency or exceeds normal levels of any of these components, an abnormal blood test result will occur. A hematologist specializes in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disorders and cancers that affect the blood, bone marrow and the immunologic, hemostatic and vascular systems.
Radiation Oncology
Working closely with medical oncologists, surgeons and other physicians, the team develops an appropriate course of treatment for each patient’s specific cancer diagnosis and in alignment with his or her specific goals and values. Radiation therapy uses a linear accelerator to deliver carefully targeted and regulated doses of high-energy radiation to kill or control the growth of malignant cells.
Services offered include:
- 3D conformal radiation therapy
- Intensity modulated radiation therapy
- Stereotactic body radiation therapy
- Stereotactic radiosurgery
